I have figured out what my magazine has in common with the texts I analysed, I have found that it has some conventions of a magazine as my text is different colours so parts stand out more, I have included a feature article as well as other articles which is also conventional, similarly to the Total Film magazine I have articles on both sides of the magazine, I have also made the font of my main article relate to the film like the Total Film magazine does for their main article so I have made mine red to represent blood which references the murder within my film. I have also kept a colour scheme within my magazine but I have done this by challenging the conventions of a typical magazine by making it a predominantly black and white magazine as a reference to the film noir genre which is a very popular type of murder mystery, I however twisted this slightly by adding red on some of the articles to make it stand out more as your eyes are instantly drawn to the title of each article. I have gone against the convention of different font sizes on my magazine cover despite advice to change this from my teacher, this is because when I tested it with different font sizes I didn't like the look of the magazine, however since the titles of each article are red, I feel this makes them stand out more. From analysis of my magazines I've realised plugs aren't used that often, however my magazine does have a gift which links with one of the articles, similar to the Total Film magazine I analysed.
I found what was common between my poster and the one I analysed, for the most part I believe I have stuck to conventions by including red text which is conventional of murder mysteries because it represents danger and blood, I have also used the dark background which allows my actor to stand out, however I do not believe my photo is conventional, I initially wanted two of my actors to be glancing at each other suspiciously but could not arrange a time for them to both be there as my initial backdrop was going to be the trees in which much of my film trailer has taken place. I have included a star rating on my poster which is unconventional of a poster however I believe that it would attract an audience to the movie more as it shows how good a movie it is according to movie critics. One thing I have not included on my poster is a release date, this is due to a poster generally being one of the first things released so there is not always a set release date for the film yet, this is generally first shown on the main trailer for the film.
